12a. Video & Audio Surveillance in Store
The Studio Negativ store at Jurastrasse 1, 3013 Bern, is equipped with a surveillance system that records both video (image) and audio (sound). Surveillance is used exclusively for the safety of persons and property and for the prevention and investigation of theft and other offences.
Note on audio recordings: The simultaneous recording of audio and video is subject to heightened data protection requirements in Switzerland. Audio recordings in publicly accessible areas are only permissible under strict conditions. The legal basis for video and audio surveillance is Studio Negativ's legitimate interest in protecting the store premises and the goods contained therein (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / Art. 31 FADP). The entrance to the store is clearly marked with a notice indicating the presence of video and audio surveillance.
Recordings are stored for a maximum of 72 hours and then automatically overwritten, unless an incident needs to be documented. In the event of an incident, recordings may be retained for longer and handed over to the competent authorities. Disclosure to third parties occurs exclusively upon official order.
Affected individuals have the right to request information about stored recordings, to the extent technically possible and legally permissible. Requests should be submitted in writing to info@studio-negativ.ch.
