Olympus Mju Zoom 105
Description:
Introduced by Olympus in 1995, the mju Zoom 105 (also sold as the Infinity Stylus Zoom 105) extended the weatherproof mju series into zoom territory, packing a 38-105mm f/4.5-8.9 lens — six elements in five groups, with one aspherical element — into a body smaller than the earlier mju Zoom 70. It reads DX-coded film from ISO 50-3200, offers active autofocus down to 60cm, and covers shutter speeds from 4 seconds to 1/500s, all fully automatic. The clamshell lens cover doubles as the power switch, and the sealed body shrugs off splashes and dust.
We appreciate how much reach this little zoom offers for a pocket camera — it earned a G-Mark for Good Design in 1996 and a Consumer Digest "Best Buy" nod the following year, recognition that still tracks today.
